Normally, hiking boots greatly shape your experience when hiking. A pair of good boots means that you will have a pleasant time whereas an ill fitting pair will often result in painful blisters, something you want to avoid at all costs. There are a few things that you should be remembering while you’re out looking for Ecco hiking boots to guarantee that you have the right boot.

If the Boot Fits…

Even with everyday shoes, the wrong size can usually cause blisters. This problem is made worse when dealing with hiking boots; and in fact, what could be more painful than blisters on a hike? It may not have occurred to you but the time of day you decide to try on shoes is actually very crucial. Our feet expand as the day wears on, which means that a pair of boots that fit in the morning may begin to feel snug in the evening. This difference in shoe size absolutely means that you should avoid trying on shoes in the morning, and instead try late afternoon or sometime in the evening.

To get a good grasp of how your Ecco hiking boots will feel on a hike, you should wear the socks you will be hiking in.  Simply wearing your hiking socks will help greatly in getting the best fitting boots. When you walk around in your hiking boots, you should ensure that the heel of your foot doesn’t move away from the heel of the boot, which is termed heel lift and is a good indicator of whether a boot is a good fit.

Where Will Your Boots Bring You?

A very important factor when deciding on which Ecco hiking boots to buy is what type of trails you will be hiking on. Hiking boots have numerous classes, starting from class A (which includes sandals) and goes up to class D. Classes A to B are designed for lighter terrain and are not suitable for terrain that is consistently not even. Class C and class D boots will do better in terrain that is  slippery or rocky as they provide more support.

Where Do You Stand?

Another thing to take into consideration when purchasing your Ecco hiking boot is your skill as a hiker. If you are an experienced hiker than you probably know what a strain heavy hiking boots can be, so you should choose for a lighter Ecco hiking boots. In contrast, if you are a new hiker, you should certainly stay away from light hiking boots, because lightweight hiking boots will not give the support that untrained feet need. So what else are you waiting for? Get up and go to those trails already!
